White Tiger Line Art

White Tiger Line Art by Chicken Billy

Last month (January 2012) my son and I visited the Fort Worth Zoo. It was a early winter morning, right after they opened and not many people were around. This time at the zoo we headed straight for the big cats. No monkeying around. As we rounding the corner to the Asian Falls area, there were two big white tigers to greet us. For a brief moment my son and I had the attention of these cats all to ourselves. Above is my illustration of one that was lounging. He/She seemed to be saying to me, “Whatever Man.” That expression was great and I hope I have captured it here.

Color version soon.

Talk radio never looked so good.

The fine editors at The Take Away, a co-production of WNYC Radio and Public Radio International used the Chicken Billy “Jumbo Shrimp” illustration for a article called, Is Gulf Seafood Really Safe?. I don’t know about Gulf Seafood but Chicken Billy seafood is super safe to consume! Thanks the Take Away!

Quimby’s Bookstore in Chicago (1854 W. North Ave · Chicago, IL 60622 · 773-342-0910) is an independently owned bookstore that sells independently-published and small press books, comics, zines and ephemera. We favor the unusual, the aberrant, the saucy and the lowbrow.

They just posted the “New Stuff This Week” on their blog. Included under ART + DESIGN BOOKS is the new Gigposters volume 2. Featured on the artist list is Chicken Billy. Woohooo! Thanks Quimby books for the plug!

Arte Vector Chicken Billy via São Paulo blog

Lady Projects is a blog by Brazilian graphic designer Leidiane S. This is her personal blog where she collects all things that inspire. Thanks to Leidiane for the post!

Here is the rough translation:
Vector Art

Anyone who knows my work knows I love a flat color, style question clear. I find it much harder to work with flat colors than using shadows, effects, etc.. You have to know a good matching colors, to harmonize the whole picture.

Digging I found a new favorite, Chicken Billy. Here is a gallery where we can see several examples of how to work well a vector.
